Windows 8 Tablet, first hands on review

Windows 8 developer preview is accessible for free download. I installed that 64 bit version to make it a test powered by a desktop. The very first thing I noticed is usually how fast it begins. The hardware I raised for my benchmarking are offered at the bottom about this post article. Though Windows 8 tablet is a future but we're able to run Windows 8 on desktop as well

When I installed Windows 7 64 bit on the same hardware, Windows starts up in 31 seconds following on from the bios. When I mounted Windows 8 64 bit about the same hardware Windows began up in 6 seconds following on from the bios. Now make sure you remember my Windows 7 does have programs installed that probably are slowing it down about 10 seconds perhaps. But I'd say we are looking for least a twice faster start-up time for those who have a dual core processor. I would guess a 4x increase in case you have a quad-core brand.

The major reason for this enhancement is usually Microsoft has better Windows 8 load times by means of the power off cores of multi-core processors to get start-up, hibernation and additionally shutdown.

So far I want the Windows 8 interface which is great for medications. I can see why a lot of Windows 7 tablets discover a method to have disappeared from the market as they will probably are waiting Windows 8 rather. What Microsoft is doing is changed the start menu to be optimized for touchscreen in lieu of mouse. The start menu consists of bigger buttons identified as tiles and a simple way to swipe between applications et cetera.

Now don't fear, they have the first Windows desktop all inside as well which i would use even more for desktops. Forget about running revert the start menu into the old Your windows program 7 look by changing a registry key if you want. You can find this on the internet if you seek out how to practice it.

I definitely see were the modern world is going even as move to a little screen world. It looks like Microsoft made bright move by pairing a tablet touchscreen interface into Windows itself rather than having two several versions of Home windows.

The only issue I see to date is there is to use IE10, it contains a bug that I found in IE9 that will Microsoft hasn't fixed. It's an issue occurring on sites that use Helvetica fonts. In case you have Helvetica installed then the website's fonts don't demonstrate. I told Microsoft relating to this but haven't seen anything back from them on the annoy. Most people don't get Helvetica installed so maybe it's low priority to deal with but the truth some major browsing websites don't succeed in IE10 for users with Helvitica fonts should be a critical bug to set. This would come to be mostly just creators so commons users shouldn't will need to fear this bug whenever they like IE.

Used to do benchmarking on the subsequent PC:

- Dell Vostro 150

- 74gb Western Digital Raptor storage device (10000 rpm).

- Intel duo core 2 e8400 3. 0 ghz.

- Nvidia gtx 480 graphics card

- 4 RAM
